Pitt does not offer a specialized program for students with ASD’s, but is in the hometown of AHEADD (a program specifically for students with ASD’s), and the organization continues to offer specialized, local support to Pitt students:
University of Pittsburgh- AHEADD provides supports to about 10 University of Pittsburgh students per semester. Our students have had good experiences in working with their disability resource office. Their office displays an understanding of the variety of services that students will need to be successful on their campus. Their office also sent a representative to participate in disability resource panel that we hosted as part of our College Readiness High School Group.
The CAMPUS program of the Watson Institute may also be local support option.
